Exposition and Lore Moving Online

At the last minute, I let everyone in our gaming group know that I’d decided to postpone our next gaming session for a week. We’ve only played two games in this new campaign, and while I was ready to run the game I’d prepared, I’d realized that I haven’t been able to get past the idea that I absolutely can improve everyone’s experience if I take time to make some changes.

I want our games to be more engaging–more fun. I hope to streamline and refine our gaming sessions so they’ll be more exciting.

I don’t see the need to itemize all of the ideas I have in mind, but I do want to mention one change, which I feel is substantial:  In an effort to reduce the amount of time spent sharing exposition and world lore during gaming sessions, I’ll be sharing more general exposition and lore here, on this website.

The obvious trade-off is that it will be up to the players to check this website for narrative elements which I usually share during gaming sessions.

I like this idea, but I haven’t really done this before. I hope it’s not too complicated; we’ll have to see how things work out.
